Random Cricket Photos Post 12

Not a story today but a hark back to the good old days of South African cricket with a photo of two men who contributed so much to the country's cricket. So, what's happening here?

It's a photograph from the 2013 Johannesburg Test against Pakistan. After a disappointing first inning total of 253 against Pakistan, Graeme Smith's South Africa bounced back in spectacular fashion.

Dale Steyn produced a spell of 6 wickets for 8 runs to skittle Pakistan out for 49 and then followed it up with another five for in the next innings to help South Africa complete a comprehensive win.

While Steyn clearly was the hero for his 11 scalps, wicketkeeper AB De Villiers also made a world record his own by equaling Jack Russell's tally of 11 catches in the match.

A kick on the bum is the captain's way of saying congratulations for the achievement. No kidding. That's exactly what it was.

Happier times. Happier cricketers. Happier cricket.
