Random Cricket Photos Post 7

Looks like bit of a party going on there!
A rare rare sight on a cricket field and one that we will never see again is what makes the picture doubly iconic. In the 1st Test against Australia in 2003, this rare occurrence took place when both the batsmen on the crease needed runners.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul had hurt his knee while Ridley Jacobs, the man he was partnering with in taking West Indies out of troubled waters had injured a groin muscle. Out walked Marlon Samuels and Wavell Hinds who had contributed heavily to the mess by scoring a 0 and a 10 respectively.

The bigger mess, that of four men running around, however, lasted only 7 runs before Andy Bichel trapped Chanderpaul plumb before wickets and ended the latter's whirlwind knock of 100 from 72 balls. It would have been poetic if this congregation had ended with a run out. But that wasn't to be.
