When England came to Australia in 2006 under Andrew Flintoff, they were favorites. Not only because they had won the Ashes in 2005 in one of the most hard-fought contests, but also because the team they were facing consisted of several men on the wrong side of 30. The English media even had a name for it. The Dad's Army.

One person who didn't like that label particularly was 36-year-old Glenn McGrath who was selected to play for the Ashes despite not playing any cricket since moving away from the game nine months before the Ashes.

In the first Test itself, McGrath silenced those questioning his abilities with the ball with a 6 wicket haul to skittle England for 157.

On his way back to the pavilion, after acknowledging the Gabba crowd, McGrath did something that was meant for the critics and the English media.

With the red cherry with which he had just demolished England's batting order, the 'old man' clutched his back and hobbled off two-three steps with a smile on his face. Unsurprisingly, his teammates had a good laugh at the classic old Aussie way of giving it back.
