The 2005 Ashes consisted of so many moments of brilliance that some of them remain forgotten despite being as crazy as the nature of contest in the series was.

Here is one clicked brilliantly by Phil Brown. From the Third Test in Old Trafford.

Chasing a daunting 423 in the final innings, Australia decided to go for the draw. But despite Ricky Ponting's masterly ton, the middle order failed to stick around for long. And it came down to the tailenders to salvage a draw with their skipper. Shane Warne, who had earlier top-scored with a 90 in the first innings joined the resistance with his captain.

The match hung in balance as England tried to prise out the remaining three wickets but Warne and Ponting's vigil lasted for more than 20 overs.

Finally, in the 98th over of the match, Freddie Flintoff managed to get an outside edge from Warne's bat. The ball flew to Andrew Strauss in the second slip. The opener who would go on to take a flying catch of Gilchrist in the next match, counted among the most memorable of Ashes history, botched up this time.

The dipping ball hit the tip of his fingers and then hit his knee and bounced off it. Sensing it was still in the air, although dipping quickly, an alert Geraint Jones dived towards his right to take a stunning one-handed catch.

The big lad who had just grabbed his 4th wicket of the innings celebrated the crazy moment with a crazier celebration.

The last wicket pair of Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath, however, refused to give their wicket away and eked out a thrilling draw to give us one of the better Ashes contests.
