Two Tests. Three innings. That's all England's Paul Terry got at the highest level. That too two Tests against West Indies. In 1984. At the peak of their dominance. Yet, he did something remarkable in what would be his last innings at the highest level.
With Allan Lamb nearing a century and England trying to avoid a follow on after conceding 500 in the fourth Test at Manchester, Terry walked out with his plastered hand in a sling, hidden inside the sweater, to face a bowling attack consisting of Holding, Garner and Davis (who had broken his arm earlier in the innings).
Gutsy!
P.S - In the previous match, Malcolm Marshall did the same i.e bat with a single hand to help Larry Gomes get to his century, an incident much better known than Terry's display of bravado.
